In 2013, researchers at Duke University succeeded in setting up brain to brain communication between two rats. Then they linked up one hundred rats, then one thousand. A wireless meta-rat brain was created. No one knows exactly what it produced (rat thoughts not yet being decoded), but one thing was certain, the behavior of the rats changed, the group cohesion was astounding.
The camera, placed at ground level, circulates nervously in a data center, scanning the isotropic aisles, immaculate and sterile, all bathed in a uniform light. It is synchronized with the rhythm and perception of a rat exploring the space, moving in and out of the machines. The rat moves along the corridor, slowly but surely. He advances like a pathfinder, marking out the terrain for his community, stopping occasionally in front of certain servers. The noise makes one think that he is starting to nibble on the cables.

En 2013, des chercheurs de Duke University parviennent à réunir deux rats par l'intérieur du cerveau. Les chercheurs réunissent ensuite cent rats, puis cent, puis mille. Les connexions se font sans fil. Un cerveau de méta-rat est créé. Personne ne sait au juste ce qu'il produit (on ne décode pas encore les pensées des rats), mais le comportement des rats a changé. La cohésion du groupe est frappante.
La caméra, placée au niveau du sol, circule nerveusement dans un data center, parcourant les allées isotropes, immaculées et stériles, baignées d'une lumière égale. Elle se cale sur le rythme et la perception d'un rat qui explore le lieu en se frayant un chemin entre les machines. Le rat avance dans le couloir, timidement mais sûrement. Il circule comme un éclaireur, repérant le terrain pour sa communauté, s'arrêtant devant certains serveurs. Des bruits donnent à penser qu'il commence à grignoter les câbles.
